📝 Essay Questions (2025–2026 Cycle)

Harvard Business School has moved away from its single open-ended essay. For the 2025–2026 application cycle, candidates must answer three short, targeted prompts:

  1. Business-Minded (300 words max):
“Please reflect on how your experiences have influenced your career choices and aspirations and the impact you plan to have on businesses or communities.”
  2. Leadership-Focused (250 words max):
“What experiences have shaped who you are, how you invest in others, and what kind of leader you want to become?”
  3. Growth-Oriented (250 words max):
“Curiosity can be seen in many ways. Please share an example of how you have demonstrated curiosity and how that has influenced your growth.”

Tips:

  • Treat each essay as a distinct lens: career impact, leadership, and curiosity.
  • Avoid overlap — together, the three should give a holistic picture of you.
  • Use specific anecdotes rather than general statements.
